Accompanied by two articles about this color variety by Tim Lindemuth that appeared in the Dec. 1986 & August 1987 issues of the US Specialist. The former describes correspondence from the various people that found examples of the color variety, and the latter contains a letter from the BEP explaining that the color variety "appears to have been the result of contamination in the black ink fountain by ink from the blue ink fountain" on the B-press.
