4003   imageUnited States, Exceptional Comprehensive Estate Collection with Strong B.O.B. Including All State Department Dollar Values, 1847-1981, An outstanding collection with a focus on used high values and also including a selection of mint such as the dollar value Official State Department issues and it is comprised of many hundreds of stamps all neatly mounted on Scott album pages. A great collection which is quite advanced missing only a small number of the regular issues and close to or complete for the period on numerous B.O.B. categories. A wonderful addition of a plethora of high values with many over $1000. each in Scott to add to your collection or perfect for online sales and a fast return on investment. We even note a Confederate section which includes a mint "TEN" Scott 9 $950. and a "Frameline" used Scott 10 $2750. It begins with the 1847 5¢ and 10¢ used Scott 1 + 2 $1275. and continues up to Scott 229 missing only a very few regular issues primarily all used. The commemorative issues beginning with the Columbians Scott 230-245 ($4526.) and Trans-Mississippi issue ($1992.) and complete used, The regular issue sets through the $5.00 high values of 1894, 1895 and 1902 have a Scott value of $9477. and are all complete used, Bluish papers include 364 mint $1600. and 336 mint $1300. A strong section of Washington and Frankline issue includes both regularly issued and coils missing very few with some mint and numerous examples of the scarce used coil values. Up through 1981 it is quite comprehensive and even contains 544 $3500. used and numerous other scarce or rare adhesives. The late owner's total Scott value for the regular issues and commemorative is $130,730. The Back of the Book area is stellar starting with complete Airmails for the period including the used Zeppelin set at $1070. and then up to 2012. Next, we note nice sections of used Special Delivery, Parcel Post and Parcel Post Dues. The Shanghai issues are mixed mint and used with the two high values mint total is $3152., Officials are outstanding and complete, mixed mint and used including The rare State Department issues Scott O68 $2.00 used $3000. plus O69 $5.00 mint $8000., O70 $10. mint $4500., and O71 $20.00 unused $2500., we also note O94 at $6000. is present. The Official issues alone have a Scott value of $34,488. Postage Dues are almost complete mixed mint and used with a Scott total value of $6828. The Newspapers are also special containing quite a number of issues into the hundreds of dollars each and it starts with lovely group of PR1-PR8 all mint followed by PR9//PR25 and a nice showing including PR67 and PR75 with certificate and unused $875., plus much more both mint and used for a grand total of $17,960. As previously mentioned, the Confederates are also exemplary with the key issues at a total Scott value of $5675. Condition is mainly Fine to Very Fine with some faults as to be expected in a collection of this magnitude. The collector appeared to be reasonable and fastidious but it is possible that not every attribution is correct.
