The 2¢ Harding Rotary Perf 11 stamp was discovered in 1938. Scott notes "No. 613 was produced from rotary press sheet waste." In United States Stamps 1922-26, Gary Griffith hypothesizes that rotary-printed sheets of 400 were first reduced to panes of 100 and then fed through the 11-gauge perforating machine normally used for flat plate sheets. According to a recent census, only 48 stamps of this issue are known, 18 of which are faulty. This stamp is just the 49th example known of this rare issue.. (Image) (Image2) (All Images)
