Postal History Collections
LotNo. Symbol CatNo. Lot Description
86   imageSiderographer and Plate Finisher Initials on Stamps on Covers, approximately 450 with the vast majority being flight covers with a handful to foreign destinations and a couple additionally franked with stamps from other countries, plus 11 Zeppelin flown including one franked with C6 siderographer block of four, 9 franked with Canal Zone stamps, 1 with a Shanghai China cancel, few misperforated with captured initials, few first day covers, the covers are beautifully presented on 8½x11 inch pages with descriptions below the cover. some of which also have the history of the pilot or flight on the reverse, few flaws as always, generally Very Fine or better, fully imaged online, approximately 200 with 2020-2022 P.F. certificates.

Shipping charges apply - weight 30 lbs.
Siderographers and plate finisher initials appeared in the bottom left and bottom right selvage, respectively, for all panes of 400 printed between 1908 to 1929, meaning that one stamp of each exists for every 400 stamps printed. Finding them on covers is extremely difficult and they command large premiums over typical stamps on cover. This collection took the consignor literally over 40 years to build, meaning he found about ten per year of diligent searching. This is a great opportunity for you. Don't miss it.
