Doane Collection and Exhibit, approximately 670 from Great Britain, Scotland and Ireland, most Great Britain and mounted on pages including the three frame exhibit for which she earned a Bronze Medal at Interphil 1976 (her exhibitor badge accompanies), one of the black albums contains 50 tombstone paid covers, scattered throughout are 18th Century and a fair number of crown in circle cancels, plus we noted one green cancel, also includes a few covers with stamps, a small used stock of stamps, 6 copies of an article written by Doane on the subject from the 1975 Congress book, and 3 books including The Postmarks of Great Britain and Ireland, 1660-1940, a fair number of fronts are not counted, few faults as always, generally Very Fine, see four of the ten albums online which provide an excellent representation of the wonderful contents of this fantastic collection that hasn't seen the light of day in decades, ex Falmouth Stamp & Coin.

She wrote articles on this subject as well as her other areas of interest -- US County & Postmaster Postal Markings, US Rural Free Delivery, US Weather Forecast Backstamps & Forecasts -- and her 20+ year long study published in 1978 of the USPOD's rubber handstamp cancels that began appearing in 1903 resulted in the cancels being named Doane cancels in her honor.
