LotNo. Symbol CatNo. Lot Description
918 nhbl 728-729 footnotes image1933, 1¢ & 3¢ Century of Progress Farley Very Special Printings (Scott 728-729 footnotes), cross-gutter blocks of 16 with cross. We all know Farley's Folleys (#752-771), but two stamps the Postmaster General failed to report to Congress were these, which were printed in gummed sheets of 400. Only two sheets of each are known: one given to Secretary of the Interior Harold Ickes, the other to Virginia Senator Carter Glass, Sr., the blocks here from the Glass sheet; fresh and sound with all perforations intact. Accompanied by articles by Birkinbine, Herst, Jennings, o.g., never hinged, Fine to Very Fine. A once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to obtain these footnoted Folleys—one of only two known possible sets, each with 1990 P.F. certificate issued to Clyde Jennings, to whom Glass' son sold the material.
