84 Ecover CL7-E imageAirmail Semi-Official, 1926, Jack V. Elliot Air Service, 25¢ Essay (Scott CL7-E), two flown covers, Rolling Portage to Red Lake, each with the blue on white essay tied by the Mar 6 "KENORA RECEIVED" oval, one with a CL6 placed directly over it—as required—the other with the CL6 having been removed for display (and not present); both are franked with a 3¢ Admiral tied by a Mar 2 Kitchener c.d.s. with a Mar 6 Rolling Portage c.d.s. alongside; the former with both Airmails tied by an additional Rolling Portage c.d.s. on the reverse, Very Fine and rare.
Unitrade CL6 footnote; C$1,000 ($740).

This design was created by the airline but was rejected by the Post Office Department, apparently because it included a denomination, so it was required that the new CL6 be applied over the "essay". Only about 40 covers have been reported, most posted by A.U. Berberich of Kitchener (as were these two examples).
