2502 Austria Lombardy-Venetia imageAustria, Lombardy-Venetia, Jaw-Dropping Specialized Postal History Lot, 1837-66, A first-class collection presented on quadrille pages in five binders arranged alphabetically by region & town with detailed information on the stamps themselves, such as types and paper varieties, and also the dates and post offices of origin and destination. Approximately 150 covers of which only about ten are stampless, as well as over 200 stamps, many on piece with complete postmark and the vast majority from the first Coat of Arms series. Some very valuable covers just based on the stamps alone, like an 1858 cover with #7 & 8 or one from 1866 with #15 & 21. Also, the rarely seen fiscals postally used on cover, more than a half-dozen here, such as the 30 centesimi (Michel Stempelmarke #3) sent from Auronzo to Venice. We are going to show you every single page of this extraordinary holding, for this is a postal history collection the likes of which we will probably never see again, generally Fine to Very Fine. 2513 Switzerland imageSwitzerland, Extensive Postal History Lot, 1854-2007, Well over 2,000 covers with the bulk appearing to be between the 1930s-60s. Many FDCs into the modern era with such better as the souvenir sheet issued for the 1938 Aarau Stamp Exhibition, two maxi-cards from the 1954 World Cup, one for the opening match and the other for the final, and a sheet of four of the world's first embroidered stamp from 2000. Also, some valuable 19th-century classics, like #8 on a 1854 cover to a town in the Liestal District and #47 on a 1864 cover to Jena in Saxony, and many special event covers, for example, Swiss Air's maiden voyage from Geneva to New York with a block of four of C42.
