1294 nh/ogbl 525 image1918, 1¢ gray green, offset printing, private perforations by Cobe (Scott 525 var.), fresh-faced block of four with ovoid perforations—created by removing paper between existing perforation holes—produced by Boston-area dealer Nathan Cobe (confirmed as the source in Aug. 2023 American Stamp Collector & Dealer article by Kevin Lowther); bright, clean and eye-catching, bottom left stamp never hinged, others with hinge remnant; top two stamps thinned, only a very few examples survive.
