2329 election fliers image1936 (Mar. 26-29), Germany Propaganda Flight, group of 10 electioneering fliers, group of 10 in various colors (some duplicated) dropped during the flight, with differing election slogans and/or excerpts from Hitler's speeches, all showing printed "Germany Flight" cachet with LZ Hindenburg and LZ Graf Zeppelin depicted; one even affixed to an envelope and sent Airmail Printed Matter with 3pf stamp (cancel tying both stamp and leaflet); a couple with small faults, but remarkably well-preserved given how they were distributed; also included is typed information on the flight and a translation of one of the fliers. 2340   imageHindenberg Related Material, three curious items found in a specialist's envelope marked "Hindenburg"; 9" x 4.5" piece of coated fabric similar to material used to construct the hydrogen gas bags on the airship, there is a reinforced section that measures 4.5" x 1.5" embedded with the number "118" on it; 7" steel cable that has been joined with another piece by tightly winding a very fine wire strand more than 100 times and then encasing it in resin; and lastly a pair of 11" brass tubes with a diameter of about 1/8", one has joint were it was bent and perhaps soldered; no provenance so it will require a seasoned specialist to identify.
