This cover was prepared for mail from Saar for the Zeppelin's round trip from Berlin via Leningrad and the Icebreaker Malguin to Friedrichshafen was never listed in Sieger. The American representative of the Zeppelin shipping company in New York City, Von Meister, published the possibility of postal delivery on the round trip in his first bulletin on the polar voyage. However, this possibility was later revoked. Mail mainly delivered via Berlin and intended for the round trip was partly transported on the round trip.

Albert Sammt (1889–1982) served as helmsman on the LZ 120 Bodensee in 1919, elevator helmsman of the Zeppelin LZ 126 - USS Los Angeles on its transatlantic flight in 1924, and as first officer on the May 1937 flight from Germany to Lakehurst of the LZ 129 Hindenburg, where he was seriously burned.
