Other better mint include 304-08, 309-11, 314, 477-84, etc. Some lovely China (1949-2000) too, mostly mint in two stockbooks and a complete set of 270-73 cancelled on one cover. Hong Kong (1997-2011) is virtually all mint and very neatly laid out in three stockbooks. He was not afraid to buy better sets, many of which are north of $100 with the occasional set over $1,000 with particularly strong affection for Egypt, Iraq, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, Sudan and United Arab Emirates. 2756   imageEurope, Highly Specialized Collection, 19th Century to 1920's, in seven European (or European style) albums and a cover album, with two Elbe quadrille albums of Austria specialized back of the book with various perforations, papers, and varieties. One album of postage dues, with imperfs of high denomination from the 1916 set, the three imperf pairs of the 1919 set, 1925 due set, dues from the Italian occupation sets with NJ9a (inverted numeral). Second album contains various Military stamps from the occupied territories in WWI, containing the first 1915 K.U.K. Feldpost overprint complete set. A very specialized collection of Eastern Silesia in Elbe quadrille album with slip case, containing the various perforations, imperforate, in some cases even various printings. This is the most in depth we have seen of this country in quite some time. Another Elbe quadrille pages album with half of the album containing Portugal Republica overprint specialized study, with various overprint flaws, different printings, double overprints, inverted overprints, colonies, etcetera. The second half contains Fiume starting with the 1919 pictorial issue, specializing in different printings, moving on the the various overprints with Franco complete set along with various large multiples of some of the lower denominations, Valore globale overprints in various printings, with varieties such as imperfs between, on presentation card, with the postage dues issues, continuing to d'Annunzio set and on to various overprints, until you get to the 1923 pictorial set with it's various overprints and finally some unusual revenue issues. There is a mint sheet album full of mint sheets (or partial sheets) from the 1910's to 1920's from Greece, Iceland, Poland, Romania and Yugoslavia. A fascinating old time Schaubek bound album in the old time European style with pages until 1890, with some nice Carol issues of early Hungary, some early Romania, but what really makes this collection fascinating is the extra items you don't see in todays albums, stationery cut squares, occasional revenues. Switzerland album on quadrille pages, starting with airmails, continuing to souvenir sheets with several nice earlier mint souvenir sheets starting in 1936 into the 1960's, semi postals used with the earlier issues appearing mostly complete, plus a scattering of various mint and used official issues. Finally, there is an album of covers (mostly flights), plus a section of Romania postal history and sheetlets, with Bermuda 2/6 and 10/- George V stamps on 1941 registered cover to Herman Herst, Iceland group of five C1 covers sent from Reykjavik to various remote airfields all around Iceland, Switzerland group of three 20.IX.44 first day covers from various cities around Switzerland, Germany group of five covers from the 1928 Zeppelin Flight (2m and 4m rates), all of which are coming from Germany with American destinations with appropriate blue 1.Amerikafahrt 1929 cachets and Friedrichshafen postmarks, and another postcard with both the 2m, 4m and 1m stamps to frank and around the world Friedrichshafen to Friedrichshafen flight, Greece C2 on cover to Turkey, New Zealand C4 on first flight from Wellington - West Coast, S.I., 20 January 1932, C4 on Christmas Airmail Gilborne 24 December, 1931 and C2 on Special Non-Stop Airmail Dec 1933 Auckland - Invercargill. Another attraction of this particular collection is the many perf varieties added by the collector, especially of the Franz Josef issues of the 19th century and even those for Bosnia & Herzegovina.
