LotNo. Symbol CatNo. Lot Description
2100   imageA Solid Collection of Mint Newspaper Stamps. A mint collection of Newspapers on Scott pages, begins with PR1-PR7 plus PR2b, PR3a and PR4 an additional two shades all accompanied by eleven P.F. and one A.P.S. certificate, followed by PR9//PR125 with many better stamps into the many hundreds and to well over $1,000. each. We note a showing of Special Printings. There are a number of stamps without gum but the later issues are mainly with gum. There is one used stamp, PR30, the balance are all unused or mint. Condition is a bit mixed with some faults, however, there are many nice sound copies and all stamps have been catalogued appropriately to the gum. This is an unusual offering as it will fill many difficult spaces in your collection or make a great lot for online sales. Please check out the scans to fully appreciate the collection. Shipping charges apply - weight 0.8 lbs.

2101   imageNewspapers Mostly Used Collection, 1875-95, 31 mint stamps and well over 300 used stamps, sorted by cancel type and issue on Scott Specialty stock pages, with mint on a manila stock page, filled with stamps, which has been identified, but needs a little rework because some hard and soft papers have been mixed up, used with 1895 lower denomination stamps on a page from a Griffin, GA newspaper ledger documenting dates, newspaper and pounds of Newspapers sent, pages of stamps sorted by cancel type: with corks cancels, brush cancels, manuscript cancels on stamps of various denominations, 35 punch cancellations with keyhole, clover, circles, dashes and L cancels, on two pages with stamps sorted by cancel type and denomination, a few town postmarks, several large oval town cancels, precancels, manuscript precancels, signatures, large horizontal brush precancels, large horizontal three line manuscript precancels, various letter in circle cancels and Maltese cross cancels. It is really difficult to adequately say just how rare these newspapers are in used condition, but I would encourage you to give it a little thought, out of all of the newspapers you have ever seen. How many of them have been used with nice cancels? Now open up the catalog and take a look at the premium of used newspapers among the 1895 issues and you will see why you need to take a look at this lot. Condition is better than usually encountered among these used newspaper stamps as they were not often cared for in the way that other stamps were, generally Fine to Very Fine. Shipping charges apply - weight 1.8 lbs. (Video for this lot) (Image)
