1644   imageBolivia, The Condor Nast Specialized Collection, 1867-68, a simply breathtaking and awe-inspiring creation, presenting as thorough a study of the iconic Condors as you're likely to find; presented in a thick 3-ring binder and five stockbooks, this collection offers singles, pairs, strips, blocks and full sheets of the 5c Condor (#1 and varieties), along with a handful of higher denominations and color-changed printings; the central holding is organized by original plate impressions followed by re-engraved issues, with many items plated as to sheet position as noted as to retouches; we note two unused "White Bird" examples, as well as full sheets of 72 of the original plate state A5, plus first (2), third and fourth re-engravings (plus an additional near-complete reconstruction of the first re-engraving); various manuscript, town and color postmarks, as well as several on-cover uses and two Revenue uses on documents add an additional layer of delight, Very Fine on the whole, a truly remarkable achievement that must be seen to be fully appreciated; a strong sampling online. 1648   imageBolivia, The Flight of the Condor Selection, 1867-68, comprising over 350 examples of the 5c Condor (#1 and 2), neatly arrayed on two-sided stockpages and offered as received, thus unchecked for paper varieties; at first glance the dealer will see stock galore in a wondrous range of shades, with the uncanceled stamps ranging from no gum to what appears to be original gum never hinged; on closer inspection, the student will find numerous items identified by printing (or reprinting) and plated; mostly singles, but note several pairs, strips and blocks; bonus material features 5c Condors in shades of violet, 50c yellow Condors (11), a 50c blue and two 100c blues; many with exceptional margins, others cut close or in; expect faults such as thins, but many sound; a most alluring compilation for the Bolivian Birder, Fine to Very Fine with much better, inspection invited, in-person or online (imaged in full).
