1226   imageOld-Time Specialized Cut Square and Entire Collection, 1853-1951. A wonderful old time holding of many hundreds of cut squares and entires all housed in six volumes, five of which are high end Scott binders with carefully created pages well designed by this serious collector with exhibition worthy descriptions, in fact this collection won the "First Award" in a 1930 A.P.S. National Exhibition in Boston and the Blue Ribbon is even still part of the collection! There are actually two collections of cut squares and one specialized volume of the 1893 Columbian Expo issue heavy in entires and varieties. The collections are strongest after 1883 with much mint and many better issues, The early material is more mixed mint + used. There are a lot of $300 to $200 items throughout, this collection should be viewed to see the size and scope. We also note a section for "Oddities" which has albinos, misprints, fancy cancels and more. A dealer will find a treasure trove of material as will a collector. Condition is a bit mixed primarily on the older sections and from the 1880's there is more higher grade mint, Certainly a few discoveries may be here as time did not permit checking this out completely due to its size. A very high Scott retail value. Shipping charges apply - weight 37 lbs. (Image)
