LotNo. Symbol CatNo. Lot Description
1206 PR1//PR125 imageNewspaper Stamps Collection, 1865-97 (Scott PR1//PR125), apparently two very nice collections and duplicates combined, contains #PR1-PR7 complete with extras of PR4-PR6 and separated pair of PR5 with freak perforations in selvage, most values of the allegory sets are present in one or more examples, either mint, used or both, with significant duplication, Proofs include two PR3P4 and PR4P4, a complete set of small die proofs #PR9P2-PR32P2, and a complete set of plate proof PR57P4-PR79P4, excellent start to a magnificent newspaper collection with many duplicates for study or trade, many of the most difficult items are already present, high catalog value; some faults are present as usual on these but many better stamps are included, we recommend careful viewing of this lot, Very Fine for this, with 2004 P.F. certificate for PR1, 2008 P.S.E. certificate for PR4, and 2013 P.S.E. certificate for PR91. 1207   imageCollection of Newspaper Stamps, 1865-97, Mostly mint collection of about 66 stamps (about 50 different) on Scott Specialty; loaded with $100-and-up stamps - including PR111 & PR112 - but condition is very mixed with just about all of the best stamps having problems. Still a good lot for filling spaces.
