1694   imageGerman Area, "Die Deutschstunde" Accumulation with 100's of Booklets, 1900-2018, Grab a Michel catalogue, because if you're a collector of Germany and have been wanting to brush up on some philatelic terminology, we're going to cover some of that here. Beginning with eleven binders of stockpages, we have various Zusammendrücke (se-tenant), numerous Waagerechte Paare (horizontal pairs) with some better, like MiNr #262x, Kehrdrücke (tête-bêche) including one "mit Zwischensteg" (with gutter), MiNr KZ13, a nice sampling of Lokalausgaben, such as Oldenburg MiNr Block IA-B & Block IIB, a binder of covers including unused Ganzsachen (postal stationery), some Automatenmarken (Framas), what appear to be better postally used copies from the inflationary period, MiNr 184, 296, 333AP, and others, Plattenfehler (plate flaws), for example, MiNr 255 I, numerous Rollenmarken (coils) from the BRD including two 5er-Streifen (strips of five), MiNr 184yR & 263R and other curiosities. But as interesting as that all sounds, the main attraction here is a specialized collection of Markenheftchen (booklets) from the BRD, Berlin & DDR; easily over 500 of them with many better, such as BRD MiNr MH1 & MH2a-e, Berlin MH3b, & DDR MH2a1, overall Fine to Very Fine, some additional images online but best viewed in person. 1695   imageGerman Area, Mint & Used Collection in Hingeless Albums, 1851-1945, In five hingeless Lindner albums, a comprehensive collection, very often with duplicates inserted alongside. A mix of mint & used throughout, volume 1 begins with the German Empire (1872-1923); mint #C38-39 (signed) are here as well as the following used as mounted… 1-3, 7-8, 10-11, 12 (pen cancel), 14, 25-26, C35. Volume 2 covers the Third Reich (1933-45) and volume 3, the States, the most impressive volume of the set. Beginning with a few covers, two of them stampless, the following used are present… Baden 15-16, Bavaria 9-14, Brunswick 7-11, Hamburg 3-6, Hannover 25, 29, Oldenburg 17, Prussia 23-25, Thurn & Taxis 1-12, 15-20, 42-51. The final two volumes cover WWI Occupations, Plebiscites, as well as Bohemia & Moravia, Danzig and Saar. But wait, there's more! As an added bonus, we are also including a secondary collection of the German Empire with not only some nicer examples of early material but also mostly doubly collected with both mint & used and some items which were not even present in the first volume. Better include mint semi-official airmails for the Rhine-Main flights (CL1-3), used B28-32, B59-67, C27-34, C35-37, C40, C46-56, and some tête-bêche pairs and Zusammendrucke. There are also three accompanying stockbooks, the first with some attractive Bavaria and Württemberg, another with mint & used duplicates up to 1941, and one with WWII Occupations including Generalgouvernement. With the exception of light pencil marks in the margin denoting the catalog numbers, pages and binders are in excellent condition. Condition of stamps varies early on, but is generally Fine to Very Fine, collection extensively viewable online. Shipping charges apply - weight 59 lbs. 1700   imageGermany, A Massive Neatly Arranged Mint & Used Stock, 1872-1998. A truly substantial inventory of mint & used, singles & sets of well over 5000 sales cards all mounted on 102 cards Scott numbered and mostly priced ready for resale individually or as mini collections online or off. All put together by a knowledgeable dealer over many decades. We catalogued a tiny portion of the first box and it came to over $6000 with 95% of that box to go and 7 more to add to it. There is a huge Scott value with catalogue prices up to $500 each. Of course the 19th century will add up in box one but a nice range of value runs throughout with a comprehensive nature of being very complete containing the less expensive more modern issues with the more difficult to find sets from the 1980's and 1990's all present. Quantities are modest mostly in the 5 to 15 range and much of the inventory comes from New Issue stock apparently starting in the late 1930's and up. The early material has mainly used in the 19th century also with some scarce early 20th century used, it progresses into mainly mint as the decades go by. Primarily mid-range in scope it includes regular, semi-postals and back of the book issues, a few faults mainly on the 19th century and then very nice quality on the balance with very few faulty. Intact as received, please view this lot if possible to fully appreciate, Fine to Very Fine. Shipping charges apply - weight 30.6 lbs. (Image)

1701   imageGerman Area, Semi-Specialized Mint & Used Collection, 1849-1982, Three volumes of the Scott Specialty series, all in very good condition. A mix of mint & used throughout, with mint often in black mounts. We're calling this collection "semi-specialized", because there are a number of areas the collector has expanded upon using the Michel catalogue as reference, such as various color shades, extensive overprint varieties during the inflation era, paper & gum variants, as well as tagging during the 50's & 60's. Other nice touches include a sampling of covers from the occupied zones featuring both stampless & censored mail, some complete booklets, gutter pairs, and coil strips with control number. Better sets & singles throughout; strong states, such as Baden used #17, Hanover used 24 with certificate, Saxony used 9-13, and extensive Hamburg including cut squares. Germany itself has some nice classics and scarcer Zones, BRD & Berlin, such as used #1, B55, B316, B318-19, B320-23, B327-30, and mint 714, 5N28-40, 16N9f, along with decent B-O-B, like a few signed Zwangszuschlagsmarken (compulsory surtax stamps). Plebiscites and other areas covered as well; decent Danzig, memorable Memel, and generous Generalgouvernement. Some scans available online but best viewed in person, generally Fine to Very Fine. Shipping charges apply - weight 16.8 lbs.
Many better throughout, such as unused #28, 76, B91-92, B102-06, C43-45 and used 1-2, 6-11, 12 (pen cancel), 19, 25, 27-28, 669, B55-57, B55a, B310-13, and more. Beyond the regular collections, what is of particular interest here is the third album, which appears to have been assembled back in the 1920s and in addition to used & unused singles, there are over 250 blocks of various sizes, as well as numerous se-tenant pairs & strips including tête-bêche, mostly from the Germania series. This volume may be viewed in full online, as well as some scans of the first Deutsches Reich album. Condition varies, but on the whole Fine to Very Fine. 1704   imageGermany, Saar & Danzig, An Exceptional Quality Inventory, 1924-1970. A superb stock of many hundreds of mainly mint with a showing of better high quality used singles and sets all in glassines with Scott numbers noted. The mint is fresh N.H. new issue stock in multiples and sheets all kept in a quality-controlled area so its as fresh as the day it was printed. Begins with a nice section of German Federal Republic issues plus a few earlier, we note a nice section of 1969-1978 issues is not counted in our catalogue value, plus mint semi-postals including B298-B301 (13 sets x $12) $156., B347 (40 used copies x $30.) $120., B348-B349 (51 used sets x $10.10) $515., B354-B355 (70 sets x $3.75) $227., plus much more, Saar includes 201-202 (59 mint sets x $4.75) $280., again with many additional sets not counted in the Scott value, Danzig has an N.H. group of 143-155 and 168//192 with a Scott of $1566. Also noteworthy is the section of German occupation issues post World War II the 3N through 8N issues in Scott with just part of that section catalogued ate $3271. Part of the Saar totaled $3448 in Scott with the Federal Republic at $5661. The stock would sell well online. The quality is excellent with the overall Fine to Very Fine or better. Few if any faults, A portion of the holding has a Scott value of $14,000++ as much is not figured. Don't miss viewing this lot. Shipping charges apply - weight 7.4 lbs. (Image)

1705   imageGerman Area, "East Meets West" Mint & Used Collection, 1946-90, Post-war Germany up until reunification housed in ten hingeless albums, nine of them Lindner, the other Lighthouse. Some of the best material is with West Germany and the Allied Zones, a very well-filled, mostly used collection containing the following used #667-68, 669, B310-13, B314-15, B318-19, B320-23, B331, B338-41, 4N11-13, along with mint B294-95. This album is up until 1983, but there is a subsequent almost all mint 2-volume collection covering the years 1960-86 and nearly complete, along with tête-bêche & gutter pairs, booklet panes, Zusammendrucke and Framas. Another volume is devoted to Berlin and has a very nearly complete mint collection from 1953-90. Lastly, we have a 6-volume set of East Germany covering the years 1949/90. The reason for the 'slash' is that 1978-83 is not present; nevertheless, this is a very comprehensive collection and otherwise virtually complete, with a mix of mint & CTO until 1974, then entirely mint. Better used items include 82-84, 144a-46a (perforated), 226a, 264a, B21a and mint B35a, overall Fine to Very Fine, two volumes viewable online. Shipping charges apply - weight 51 lbs. 1710   imageGerman Area, Mint & Used Collections in Old School Albums, 1849-1929, We've all heard stories about someone discovering a trunk in an attic, one which hasn't been opened in a half-century or more, and inside some dusty old stamp albums which make your heart skip a beat. Perhaps that is what happened here, because we have four old albums, and despite being put together "back in the day", two albums in particular look as clean and fresh as they did in 1939, the year on an inserted note written in German script with the catalogue values from then. Delightful Danzig, marvelous Memel, precious plebiscites, and more, like Occupation of Estonia (Dorpat) mint N1-2, Occupation of Romania 3N13-16 used and Scott-unlisted Zwangszuschlagmarken (Compulsory Surtax Stamps) MiNr. 6 mint, and used VII & X, Saar mint B16-22, B23-29, Upper Silesia mint 32-42, and used 10, 10a, 10b, 10c. Condition varies, but generally Fine to Very Fine, about half this collection is viewable through online flips. Shipping charges apply - weight 16 lbs.
