1819 cover   imageHandpainted Cartoon-style illustrated covers, a gorgeous set of four covers by Los Angeles artist Bill Hussey, mailed between April and July of 1946; all-over designs with characters' "speech bubbles" referring to the addressee; three of the covers feature an older man in a "Top Hat & Tails"—apparently the artist/sender—and three also feature Donald Duck (one is on the back); all are franked with a 3¢ Prexie with the perforations trimmed off. also includes a typed letter on a hand-illustrated letterhead (Jul '46) and an illustrated card sent as an enclosure (Aug '46).
