1845 og EP93 image"Feuchtwanger" 9¢ Strip of Three (Scott EP93), three 3¢ 1861's overlapped in an rectangular copper case embossed with central eagle and snake surrounded by a floral motif; some mica faults, the frame with very slight verdigris.

These strips are often referred to as "Feuchtwangers" because the eagle design is reminiscent of the Hard Times Tokens from 1837 designed by a Dr. Lewis Feuchtwanger. Many believe that these 9¢ tokens were produced in New York City in the 1890s.
