1857 Issue (18-39) continued...
LotNo. Symbol CatNo. Lot Description
104 E 39-E1 image1860, 90¢ blue, progressive die essay (Scott 39-E1), on India (45 x 52mm) affixed on large card (150 x 215mm), exquisitely detailed as one would expect, the design's tablets lacking "U.S. Postage" and "Ninety Cents", and the curvature lines in the top scroll are incomplete; India shows very light framing lines used by the engraver, who signed the card at lower right, Extremely Fine, listed, but unpriced (dashed) in Scott; quite possibly unique—and the only known incomplete die essay for this value.
