Revenue - Documentary (R)
LotNo. Symbol CatNo. Lot Description
849 R103a imageDocumentary, 1871, Second Issue, 1¢ blue & black, center inverted (Scott R103a), a lovely mint example, remarkably fresh and exceptionally well centered with disturbed original gum; accompanying certificate notes a "faint thin" at the top, which, frankly, we can't even see, otherwise an Extremely Fine gem, ex "World Traveller" Collection, with a 2019 P.F. certificate.

The Philatelic Foundation has certified only one other unused example, that one being without gum.

The Isleham, Joyce, Zoellner and Tolman examples of this invert were all utilized by the same user as this one; their manuscript cancels were dated 12/15 & 12/27 of 1871, and 1/2 & 1/4 of 1872, respectively.
