7485   imageGreat Britain, 1851, London International Exposition official's envelope, used, the cover has the imprint of the 1851 Exposition but none are know used at that time (all 6 or so known are from 1871-1874), a copy of the design is known as a gummed label (it is unique) plus U.S. 1859 ad cover of Nash Machine Co. indicating their prize won in 1851 and a medal of Victoria and Albert's visit to Paris for the 1855 Fair, a remarkably rare assemblage, Very Fine to Extremely Fine.

7497   imageGreat Britain, 1864, Shakespeare Tercentenary labels (only known mint multiple) and silks, there was a fund-raiser for a Shakespeare Memorial statue on Primrose Hill that was never erected, the committee had offices in London, the block of 6 is unique (it is amusing to note that this committee spelled his name wrong!) plus a Stevens silk and a button with three different woven images attached, an extremely rare group for the serious shakespeare collector.
