6296   imageAmerican Bank Note Company Color Sample Books, Proof Vignette Book and 1901 Presidential Inaugural book, 1860-1920s, lot of 4 books or booklets of proof vignettes, and color sample pages; and, a 1901 Presidential Inaugural book with 2 engraved plates by the B.E.P., the color sample booklets includes one with 20 pages, small format, with the ABN Screaming Eagle in the middle in 20 different colors, ca. 1910-20; a B.E.P. color sample booklet, approximately 6 inches by 2.5 inches with 18 pages in different colors with a small portrait of Andrew Jackson in the center, 1914; and, an early American Bank Note Company 6 inch by 8 inch book filled with about 90 proof vignettes, cut down close to the borders, of dozens of topics, with many having been used on U.S. and World banknotes, fiscal documents, stock certificates and bonds, dating from the 1850-60s until the 1890s. Most seem to have been printed in very thin card and then mounted in the book. The front cover of the book lists the address 142 Broadway, New York as their office address, the outer cover is worn with a few pages coming loose, but the vignettes are in excellent condition; this is an exciting lot for the security printing collector with seldom seen items; from an old estate collection offered for the first time.
