Three U.S. Army Martin bombers made a courtesy trip from France Field to San Jose, Costa Rica, under the leadership of Major Follet Bradley (1890-1952), the France Field Commanding officer. Postmaster Gerald D. Bliss officially designated Bradley as an Airmail pilot and authorized him to carry the mail.
