Eclectic and Interesting Ephemera, Civil War includes discharge paper for a corporal in the NY 42nd regiment, four cartes de visite of soldiers including Capt. Benjamin Meservey (18th Mass), and a pay slip, books mostly philatelic and numismatic including privately hardbound The Coin Collector's Journal from Dec. 1875-Dec. 1876 (Vol. ?) and 1882 (Vol VII) plus 1886 (Vol. XI), Mélanges de Numismatique bound, Scott's 1894 catalog of coins and paper money hardbound, also includes 25 1900's to 1920's photographs of various actors and singers with many inscribed and signed, other paper includes eight approx. 8.5x11 inch black and white old maps of North America, and many items that sell in the $15-$30 range on eBay including Stanley Dry Plate box with eight plates and seven 8.5 x 11 photographs made from the plates, original WWII PSYOPs Cities Leaflet No. 2106 dropped over Japan in July 1945, 1958 Red Sox program and score card, 1909 college baseball team schedule marked with outcomes, etc., also includes six bound record books of the William H. Low Estate Company of Providence R.I. Group of Six Civil War-Era Prints, comprising five naval scenes and a map of the US, including full-page illustration from Harper's Weekly of April 5, 1862; a wide view of Charleston Harbor; and three color lithographs: the sinking of the USS Cumberland by the CSS Merrimac, Farragut's fleet passing the forts on the Mississippi, and a full-spread illustration (again from Harper's) of "Farragut's Fleet Passing the Forts and Obstructions at the Entrance of Mobile Bay"; some expected creases or small splits, but nothing a good conservator couldn't repair; well worth a look.
