Chris Ceremuga Certificate (2017).
Very scarce Overprint Type on this issue, of which only 360 were produced. The ACSC states that "Following the issue of the £1 grey, the £1 brown & blue was withdrawn from collectors' sets and a supply of the £1 grey with Type B SPECIMEN overprint
was sent to each State in replacement. Available archival records suggest at least 360 stamps were required ...". Chris Ceremuga states in respect of the blue-black overprint that "All examples have similarly shifted watermark [downwards to right]
suggesting that only 1 sheet of 120 printed". See also the next two Lots. (Image1) (Image2)

mark on the reverse of the lower unit otherwise very fine unmounted, Cat $17,000+ for singles. The ACSC states that "This stamp is rare ... one block of 4 [and] at least one pair are recorded". Other than the sole block of 4 recorded (Cat $25,000),
this is the largest (or equal-largest) multiple known. The 'Dubois' IV very well-centred unmounted single sold in 2024 for CHF 2440.
