 10/- grey & deep (bright) aniline pink with the Watermark Sideways ACSC 48aa (SG 43ab) and additionally with Vertical Line of Heavy
Pink Colour at Right, unused with non-contemporary gum, Cat $35,000 (£42,000). The Pink Colour Line appears to be in the nature of a Partial Double ('Kiss') Print of the Frame Plate. The ACSC records Double Print with 'OS' Puncture only, but see Lot
785 below. Ex Stuart Hardy (Lot 416) where described as "gum disturbed" (regummed?); sold in 2013 for $29,900.
The ACSC states that "Two unused and about ten used examples ... are recorded". The Royal Collection and the Australia Post Archival Collection each include only a used example, making this an opportunity to own an item "fit for a King". Absent from
Arthur Gray's collection, whose used example - a few short perfs - sold in 2007 for US$12,075 (A$16,771 at the time). (Image1) (Image2)
