 1867-72 QV Crown CC Watermark 4c rose, 6c lilac, 8c orange, 12c blue, 24c green & 32c pale red imperforate plate proofs in - or
close to - the issued colours on highly-surfaced unwatermarked ungummed paper overprinted 'CANCELLED' blocks of 12 (2x6) with margins at left & right, good even margins, light aging marks on the reverse that do not detract from the very fine facial
appearance, the 4c with a few minor marks and the 32c with a couple of minor faults in the margins. Prepared by De La Rue for display at the 1872 South Kensington Exhibition. Multiples larger than blocks of 4 are scarce. Ex Dr William Wells. (6
