Reduction of the Red Printing (Virgin's Tunic & Skin Tones) and Completely Omitted from Unit 1 SG 1083a (CPSC 16aY) and Black Printing (Skin Tones, Hair Highlights, Background and Caption) Completely Omitted from Unit 10 SG 1083b (16aX) & Unit 9 with
Black Partly Omitted, also Units 6 to 1 with Progressive Reduction of the Vermilion Printing ('CHRISTMAS/1975') SG unlisted (16aZ variant), Units 7 & 8 normal, Unit 7 with minor surface blemish probably coincident with the diminishing vermilion
printing, Unit 2 with minor stain on the reverse, otherwise the strip is very fine unmounted, Cat £2000+ (NZ$5250+) for the two completely missing colours as singles. A remarkable & startling piece.
Tom Pierron listed the 'red' as 'magenta' and stated 20 examples were known. If this strip was split into singles, we expect that most people would acept that Units 1 to 3 are all 'Missing Red', and Units 4 to 6 might also be accepted. He also stated
