1918 (May 29) large bank envelope (187x125mm) with wax seals on reverse endorsed for insured mail on the face, to Tientsin from the

2,000 years, Kashgar was an important stopping-place on the Silk Road between China, the Middle East, and Europe. The Russian railway network across Siberia, Manchuria and Central Asia offered an expeditious service to and from Sinkiang. All Russian
post offices in the province were closed in October 1920. (Image1) (Image2)
