 COVERS: Comprehensive annotated collection of Active Service 'Honour' envelopes neatly presented in an oversize Lighthouse album
and a carton, covering WWI from 1917 and WWII to 1948, including those used by the Royal Navy, RAAF, RAN, Indian and Allied forces, also Army and Navy Privilege envelopes, On Active Service plus duplicates and reference material. Introduced in March
1915 during World War I, these were special envelopes, usually printed in green, that allowed soldiers to send letters without them being read by field censors. By signing a pledge on the envelope, soldiers verified that the contents were strictly
personal, lightening the workload on official censors. Weighs 11kg.
