1932 (March-May) England-Australia per Lady Isobel ("Bee") Chaytor and RT ("Rab") Richards AAMC 252 with typed "Carried by Lady
Chaytor/on her Flight from/England to Australia" and initialled "IC", addressed back to England with Australian KGV 2d red tied by Sydney slogan cancel of '20MAY/1932' and 'WARRINGTON LANCS/27JU/32/ 6 ' arrival backstamp, light even soiling,
under-catalogued at $650. With the pilot's enclosed note stating "Forgotten to be posted at Java/May 3rd 1932". In Bulgaria, a poor landing damaged the propellor. At Calcutta, Chaytor became ill & decided to head for Perth by sea. Richards flew on to
Darwin, then headed south-west for Perth, the first pilot arriving from overseas to do so. The pair reunited in Perth & flew to Sydney. Ex Brian Peace: see his Volume Two at pages 187-190 where both items are illustrated. (Image1) (Image2)

1935 (Oct-Dec) Darwin-England-Darwin per Charles Kingsford Smith & Tommy Pethybridge in 'Lady Southern Cross' with KGV 2d tied by
'DARWIN NT/3OC35/AUSTRALIA' cds & London arrival machine of '18OCT/1935', Great Britain KGV 1½d brown with 'VO/CoL' perfin of Vacuum Oil for the return flight tied by London cds of '18OC/35', flight departed 23.10.1935 but aborted at Brindisi because
of damage caused by a hail storm. The plane returned to England where a second 1½d was added & tied 'HYTHE/9-AM/6NO/35/KENT' backstamp three hours after Kingsford Smith had departed from there, huge explanatory cachet in red on the reverse numbered
