complete central Plate Number ' 5 ' at Top ACSC 231zc because of the upper & lower margins being trimmed at an angle removing the imprint at left and passing through the central imprint, unmounted, Cat $7500+ for mounted. Ex Arthur Gray: sold for
£2620. The ACSC (2024) still states that "Plate No 5 has not been seen and its exact appearance is uncertain". Note that the catalogue listing is ' 5-' but there is no dash on either side of the numeral. (Image1) (Image2)

The numeral could be an '8' but 6 is the highest plate number listed. The upper margin was trimmed at a slight angle apparently removing the dash (-) before the numeral. (Image1) (Image2)

with Authority Imprint, all six units in the first column with Double Perforations Horizontally ACSC 239b, well-centred, unmounted, Cat $1650+ for six pairs. A striking piece. Ex Arthur Gray: sold for £604. The ACSC states that "At least one sheet is

of 10 (5x2) with margins large to enormous, light bend across the lower row, unmounted, Cat $3750+ for five pairs (not listed in this format by Gibbons). RPSL Certificate (1974) mentions neither the inverted watermark nor the crease, suggesting that
because it was submitted by Harmers they didn't even need to look at it. (Image1) (Image2)

1947 Newcastle Sesquicentenary 2½d 3½d & 5½d SG 219-221 separate die proofs in the issued colours, the 2½d on pinkish paper,
recessed in cardboard presentation mounts (74x87mm ot the 5½d 87x74mm), boxed 'CBA/NOTE PRINTING/BRANCH' cachets in violet on the reverse endorsed "27" "32" & "35" and "12.8.47", the 3½d impression with light toning, the 2½d is superb & the 5½d is
very fine, stains on the flaps which are folded to the back, Cat $9000. Rare and highly desirable, being the first issue for which proofs were presented to the three private members of the Stamp Advisory Committee. Ex Arthur Gray: sold for £1920.
The ACSC states that ten sets were produced, one for the Royal Collection. Most of the others are noted as having been unnumbered but that is questionable because these numbered examples are not in the ACSC list. They have the same flap stains as Lot
322 but that was given to HL Anthony, PMG 1949-56, and he wasn't in the Ministry in 1947. Of course, Anthony may have 'inherited' this set from his predecessor, Don Cameron, who was PMG 1945-49. (3 proofs) (Image1) (Image2)

1947 Royal Wedding of Princess Elizabeth Watermarked 1d slate-purple SG 222 imprint block of 20 (10x2) from the base of the sheet,
six units with Partial Diagonal Offset from 15% to 60% affecting Six Units incorrectly listed as ACSC 246c instead of 245c, the block with a couple of minor imperfections but the variety units are very fine unmounted, Cat $5000 for the strip of 6,
which must be an error, because in the previous edition it was priced at $750. Ex Arthur Gray: sold for £276. Believed to be the only recorded offset piece in this issue. (Image1) (Image2)
