'COBBITY/N.S.W-AUST' cds cancel but without additional franking, taxed with Sydney 'TAX "2c/9" 2.H' boxed handstamp in violet, no evidence of collection of the postage due. Pre-Decimal stamps & postal stationery remained valid after Decimalisation on

device on the flap) unusually with 'Hutt Road, Thorndon' (New Zealand) return address printed at lower-left, to New Zealand with Melbourne Krag machine cancel of '13JAN/1922', 'HAVELOCK NORTH/20JA22/NZ' arrival backstamp, a few very minor blemishes
that are quite inconsequential, Cat $12,000. The ACSC states "At least six...are recorded, all used from Melbourne between February & June 1921". This is the latest recorded usage and the only example to an overseas address. Sold at our auction of
13.6.2009 for $11,650 (Sale 145 Lot 94). Kevin Nelson's example sold at our auction of 27.11.2010 for $16,890 (Sale 160 Lot 1023).
