An enigma. Ron Butler recorded an example with similarly misplaced perfs but also clearly rouletted at left: see his Plate III. That stamp was Ex Colonel Napier (III) and Don Pearce: sold for $895 (Sale 247 Lot 305). We expect both stamps are from
the same sheet. [Date range 5.10.1869 to 2.11.1869 only] Chris Ceremuga Certificate (2019) is rather ambiguous, concluding "...I consider [the Butler stamp has] the same status as this stamp". (Image1) (Image2)
