struck directly onto the home-made pages, some where no markings available with manuscript notations only, covering a journey from Western Australia to New South Wales starting from Belmont (WA) including 'MUNDARING WEIR' cds, Wooroloo 'STATE SAVINGS
BANK' oval in violet, Bakers Hill 'STATION MASTER/W.A.G.R' boxed, 'CLACKLINE' cds in violet, Grass Valley 'GOVT SAVINGS BANK' oval in violet, 'KARALEE' cds, 'WOOLGANGIE' cds (ERD; recorded in PMI for one month only), Kargoorlie 'TELEGRAPH OFFICE' cds
and Kamballie 'STATION MASTER/W.A.G.R' triple-ring cds, then Port Augusta (SA) 'STATION MASTER'S OFFICE/RECEIVED/GOVERNMENT RAILWAYS' double-ring oval on 1½d Canberra, also 'LAKE VIEW' (rated RR), 'WEETULTA', 'DUBLIN', 'ENFIELD', 'VERDUN',
'AMBLESIDE', 'WISTOW', 'BELVEDERE', 'ASHVILLE' & 'WOOD'S WELL' (TO only; ERD; rated RRRRR) cds, etc, then Victoria with 'STRATHDOWNIE', 'WANNON', 'POMBORNEIT NORTH T.O.', 'COLAC WEST', WARNCOORT', 'MT MORIAC' & 'MONEA' (very scarce) cds, etc, and NSW
including 'WOOMARGAMA', LITTLE BILLABONG' (ERD by 7 years), 'KYEAMBA', 'JEIR', recut 'HALL/FCT' (Hopson & Tobin record for 1929 only), 'AINSLEY/FCT' (Hopson & Tobin unlisted; we know of one other of 11FE28), 'TIRRANAVILLE', 'WEAVER'S' (ERD by 5
years), 'FERNANCE'S' (Hopson & Tobin unlisted; we know of one of 5FE38) & 'SWEETMAN'S CREEK' cds (some in blue), etc, the majority of the strikes are fine to very fine. A most unusual artefact containing many scarce markings.

1903-10 Essays three moderately skillful renderings on high-quality wove paper of variations on the theme of KEVII superimposed on
a Map of Australia, "No 1" for 2d with a repaired 30mm tear, "No 2" for 1d creased at lower-right, "No 3" for 1d endorsed "White Australia King Edward 1905" & at the side "Personally I do not believe in a total White Australia", with only minor
blemishes ACSC E32-34, some minor professional cleaning, each with a small spikehole impacting the design, Cat $7500. Ex 'Besancon' (II): sold for SFr605, at which time only one of the three was listed in the ACSC, with a note "Two further essays by
EK Crawford apparently exist, but no details are available". [Each item is endorsed on the reverse "EHK Crawford/Dryrah/Greenethorpe/NS Wales". Ernest HK Crawford was a grazier & District Justice at Greenethorpe, in the central west of NSW]

1911 Stamp Design Competition two amatuerish Coat of Arms 1d designs photo-mechanically printed on standard postcard stock endorsed
"H Grey Norris/.../Kensington Park/S Australia" on the reverse ACSC 82 & 83, each with a file-hole at upper-right & closed pinholes, Cat $4000. Ex 'Besancon' (III): sold for SFr605, at which time these essays were not listed in the ACSC. That has now
been rectified & they are illustrated on page 14, Henry Grey Norris held senior positions with the railways in South India & retired to Adelaide.
