1934 MacRobertson Air Race four large press photographs with roneo'd labels & cachets on the reverse 1) Jim & Amy Mollison with their de Haviland 'Comet'; 2) the plane on the ground; 3) the Mollisons posing in the plane; and 4) well-wishers around the plane before takeoff; and two small trade cards of the duo. 1934 MacRobertson Air Race airmail covers from Sydney to "James A Mollison Esq" and "Captain Neville Stack" both at Darwin both with Brisbane transit & 'DARWIN NT/29OC34/AUSTRALIA' arrival backstamps, 'UNCLAIMED' handstamp of Darwin with further cds of '8NO34' and returned, the first with Sydney Dead Letter Office cachet in rosine, minor spotting. Stated to be the only such "welcome" covers recorded for the Race. See AAMC 447 (the Mollisons withdrew at Allahabad) and 449 (Stack & Turner withdrew at Rome).
