1938-52 KGVI Pictorials 5/- Isle of Wood and Water Single Line Perf 14 SG 132a, well-centred, lightly mounted, Cat £7000, for
unmounted. A superb example of this major Commonwealth rarity of the reign of KGVI. Ex 'Dubois' (Hugh Wood) Part II: sold for £2880. In December 1940, De La Rue's printing works were destroyed by German bombing during the Blitz. The surviving stock
of unperforated stamps was sent to Watford for perforating. A few sheets only of the 5/- were processed using an old single-line perforator. It is believed that only about 12 mint examples have been recorded. Graham Cooper's marginal example with
Plate Number '1', also mounted, sold in 2016 for £2520. (Image1) (Image2)
