Excepting '1' (GPO), all the Parish Numeral covers are rare. Peter Jaffé had none; 'Britannia' had only one, 3.1.1857 internal cover with very fine '11', that sold in 2016 for £1920; 'Besancon' had only one, also internal from St Lucy with jottings on the face, that sold in 2022 for SFr4635; and Frank Deakin had no covers but his superb '11' on a very fine (1d) sold in 2010 for £805. According to Clarke Radford & Cave (1982), the ERD for any of the Parish Daters is 12.5.1855: this is eight months earlier, making it a very significant cover. (Image1) (Image2)
