lower-left, to Ceylon with 'COLOMBO/NO9/93' arrival backstamp. Superb. Apparently addressed by the Governor himself. [The 9th Earl of Kintore was the popular Governor between 11.4.1889 and 10.4.1895. A supporter of Federation, he also travelled from
Darwin to Adelaide to inspect the interior]

an ERD of "2.10.01": this is almost one year earlier. [Mount Barker Springs is 5km NE of Mount Barker. The PO was open until 12.9.1910]

TPO/28DE--06/S AUSTRALIA' cds. This is something of an enigma. The postcard rate was 1d + late fee of 6d if posted at the GPO or 9d if posted at Adelaide Railway Station. The TPO cds indicates it was posted at the station, so it was 2d underpaid, but
not taxed.

soiling), the 3d 4d 6d & 8d are all commercial, red/white R labels on the 9d & 10d both to Germany & the 1/- to Belgium, fine to very fine. A most unusual opportunity. The ACSC prices the 8d on cover at $750. The higher denominations are scarcer,
even on philatelic covers, but are unpriced.
