Far superior to the mounted single that sold at our auction of 29.6.2023 for $463.  Necessarily offered 'as is'.

874 nh image1961 Native Police 5/- Patrolman complete sheet of 60 with the sheet number in red in the lower-right margin, a couple of trivial gum bends in the margins only, all units unmounted & very fine. Unissued & rare. The TPNG Post Office official bulletin of January 1962 stated that a forthcoming issue would feature "a Native Affairs patrol ..." It is believed the issue was abandoned in September 1962 and all but three (?) sheets of the stamps were destroyed. A lower-left corner block of 4 with sheet number (*/**) and a lower-right corner block of 4 (**; one unit creased) sold at our auctions of 12.2.2010 & 17.2.2012 respectively for $2415 each. Retail $45,000 for singles.
