2078 c image1996-2004 Scenery Self-Adhesive Perf 11½ $1 Pohutukawa Tree as SG 1991 but Imperforate on all Sides (CP PE17aZ) and cut from the booklet pane, tied to commercial PPC to NSW by South Auckland MSC ink-jet cancellation, the stamp with a very minor surface mark at left, the PPC with a central vertical fold. A rare error that is unpriced by Campbell Paterson & unlisted by Gibbons; with a normal stamp for comparison.

2082 = image1873 large piece from the first four pages (uncut at the top) of the 'New Zealand Tablet' Vol I No 30 of 22.11.1873, addressed twice to Hotham (North Melbourne), Chalon 1d brown pair from the worn plate tied by two strikes of a bars cancel of Dunedin (?), light overall soiling. A rare survivor. [Founded by Catholic Bishop Patrick Moran of Dunedin, the paper was his personal public pulpit for opposing the government's secular education policy and promoting the Irish Republican movement]

2083 c image1901 (Nov 14) local usage of Robert Porter & Co, London "Bull Dog" Ale & Stout multi-coloured illustrated advertising envelope showing beer bottle with dog logo, with 1d Universal tied by 'NELSON' cds, a couple of very minor bends hardly detract from this very attractive item. This same design was used for the New South Wales Postal Stationery Stamped-to-Order envelopes produced for the firm.

2084 PSE image1902 (Jan 10) usage of Hancock's Bismark Brand Lager Beer 'The Purest Beverage in the World' advertising envelope with stamp collar printed in blue at U/R, additionally Stamped-to-Order with QV Circular 1d red indicia printed alongside, to Australia with Auckland cds, Sydney 'JA17' arrival b/s, a couple of very minor blemishes. The basic envelope was intended to have the stamp placed inside the 'collar'; once the printed indicia was added this was of course unneceesary. Rare and attractive.

2085 PSE image1945 (Feb 27) usage of Prisoner Of War Post Airmail Lettersheet 'SIX PENCE' Overprint on KGVI 1/- blue (without 'SEE NOTE ON FLAP'), to POW at Stalag 31Y (XVIIIC) with Dunedin machine cancel, censored in Great Britain with '[crown]/PASSED/DA 13' handstamp and additional '156' cachet in blue and 'NEW ZEALAND ARMY BASE P.O.-U.K./6 JU/45' transit cds on reverse but not delivered due to the liberation of the camp, very fine.

[Gibbons notes that the 1967 5/- exists in both comb & line perf but says nothing about relative scarcity or value. Our vendor states the printing was around 3000, of which only 20% or so (600 stamps) were comb-perforated]  (350+)
