A similar proof - believed to be the only other recorded example - with minor peripheral faults sold at our auction of 24.6.2000 for $6440. [Considering that this proof was for the first issues of Australian Postal Cards and Letter Cards, it should be regarded as one of the most important postal stationery items of all]

The ACSC states "This is a rare envelope of which only a small number were revalued, presumably returns from post offices". A similar unused example sold at our auction of 1.9.2018 for $1239.

1216 c imageKGV Heads covers all with 'PARKVILLE/VIC' cds cancels comprising 1920 2d orange block of 4, 1922 1d violet block of 4, 2d scarlet (2 pairs) & 4d blue, 1923 1½d green block of 4 and 1924 covers with 1½d red & 2d brown blocks of 4 and another with 1d green block of 4 plus Kangaroos 2/- maroon, all cancelled on or about the known dates of issue (but a number are not tied) and presumably prepared as First Day Covers, condition fine to very fine. Attributed to the famous collector Dr WP Heslop, from whose estate similar covers are known. Due to a lack of any further provenance, these items are offered strictly 'as is'.  (7 covers)
