3035 image1929 British 'Beaux Artes Series' stationery salesman's sample book of 100 superior-grade mostly Christmas greetings cards in a variety of traditional and avant garde styles including many marvellous Art Deco designs notably a marvellous fabric butterfly, the cards neatly affixed & only two items have been removed. [200,000 people welcomed Amy back to Croydon aerodrome and an estimated 1 million people lined the 12 mile route to the Grosvenor House Hotel], reinforced fold and some light soiling. 3037 D image1932 Opening of the Sydney Harbour Bridge (21x26cm) illustrated invitation with an attractively tinted multicolour view of the Bridge and another of Sydney Harbour at the base, surmounted with 'NEW SOUTH WALES' State Arms (Lion & Kangaroo) in gold, made out to "Sir Arthur Rickard Kt and Lady Rickard", some toning marks but unfolded and gorgeous. Arthur Rickard was President of the 'Millions Club' (promoting Sydney to become the first Australian city to reach a population of one million) and a leading Sydney land developer. His company was hit hard by the Great Depression when buyers on 'Rickard's Easy Terms' walked off their land, leading to its liquidation in 1930. Ex Maurice Williams; sold for $1380.
