Daydream Island is part of the Whitsunday Islands group lying immediately to the NW of South Molle Island, about 30km NE of Proserpine on the mainland.

542 c image1951 (circa) Millars' Timber & Trading Co Ltd parcel tag to the firm's branch in Harvey (WA) with Arms 5/- maroon & £1 blue (ACSC $350 on cover) plus QE 2d green & 2/- Crocodile tied by slightly indistinct Perth Registered cds, a couple of bends not affecting the top values. [In 1902, seven major WA sawmilling companies merged with the Millar organisation to form Millars' Karri and Jarrah Company. In 1912 the name was changed to Millars' Timber and Trading Company Ltd, and in 1983 the company was taken over by Bunning Brothers Ltd]

543 PSE image1952 (Sept 16) usage of Postal Card KGVI 2d mauve to "Colonel Oliver B Brown, Office of the Chief of Engineers, US Army, Washington DC", USA with KGVI 2½d brown (corner fault) added tied by very fine 'ISLAND BEND/NSW-AUST' cds, brief message "The TVA of Australia" on reverse from "Lincoln B Grayson, Regional Engineer, Kosciusko Region, Snowy Mountains Authority, Island Bend via COOMA", NSW, light corner bend. Island Bent PO 11.1.1951; closed 30.4.1968. The reference to the 'TVA' is to the Tennessee Valley Authority, the federal authority created by President Franklin Roosevelt's New Deal in 1933 to develop & run - among many other things - some 29 hydro-electric dams & power stations across the southern United States.

545 c image1966 (July 22) registered airmail to Canada with Navigators 40c Tasman solo tied by 'CANNINGTON/WESTN AUSTALIA' cds, blue R label and red R cachet on face, Perth, Sydney & Vancouver transit and Winnipeg '26/jul/1966' arrival backstamp, a couple of very minor marks. The rate was 20c per ½oz Zone 4 airmail letter plus 20c registration fee.

546 c image1967 (April 24) airmail to England with pre-decimal/decimal mixed franking of ICY 2/3d plus QEII 3c coil stamp tied by Brisbane (Qld) cds, a couple of minor blemishes. The 2/3d pre-decimal stamp remained valid for use until 14.2.1968, its value being converted to 22 cents. The airmail letter rate to the UK was 25c per ½oz until increased to 30c on 1.10.1968.

Per Guinea Airways to Darwin via Adelaide; then probably per 'Cooee' ex Darwin 15.5; 'Canopus' ex Karachi 22.5, terminated Basra 23.5, because of the Iraqi pro-German Insurrection. Then per 'Cassiopeia' long-range shuttle direct to Cairo, arrived 23.5, then by rail to Tel Aviv.
