Carried by British Airways VC10 flight from London to Singapore which was hi-jacked on 22.11.1974 at Dubai; 23 passengers - including Australian aboriginal activist Kath Walker - remained aboard & were taken as hostages to Libya; demands for the release of Palestinian prisoners in Holland & Egypt were agreed to after a German national was executed; recovered mail destined for Western Australia received this explanatory handstamp.

1812 D image1930s (circa) outline-coloured map (333x390mm) of 'Hong Kong and New Territories' printed by Waterlow & Sons, London & Dunstable including roads, railways, police stations and navigation lights, folded as issued, a couple of tiny blemishes in the margins otherwise very fine. [The printer's inscription without 'Watford' dates the map to the early 1930s. Waterlow & Sons, Watford operations were closed not long after the Bank of England in 1928 took over printing banknotes which had until then been printed there under contract for the Treasury.
