1520 image1890 Emberlin & Son, UK 'The Wonderland Postage Stamp-Case' by Lewis Carroll, comprising a hessian-backed paper slip-case with an image of Alice in Wonderland holding a child and on the reverse the Cheshire Cat in a tree, a cardboard 'case' with Alice now holding a pig (!) and the cat vanishing on the reverse with spaces for stamps of varying denominations to 1/- inside, a small booklet 'Eight or Nine Wise Words About Letter-Writing' by Lewis Carroll, and the original flimsy envelope which housed it all. Quite wonderful!
