1981 Fungi 24c Toadstools block of 6 (2x3) with Yellow Magenta & Black Printings Completely Omitted from Two Units & Partly Omitted from Two Units ACSC 912c, unmounted. An extraordinary production error of great technical interest: illustrated at page 477 of 'Decimals I' (2021). The error was the result of a sizeable folded-over & defective piece of paper partly adhering to the sheet & receiving only the cyan (blue) printing, and the perforations. The full impact of the stray piece is evident only when the block is unfolded. If the piece were to be removed, four units of the block of 6 would be missing the three colours. Note also that about 50% of block as folded is three layers of paper thick! The piece was originally a block of 21 (7x3), priced at $4000 "for the complete unit". Obviously, it has been split into two or, perhaps, three blocks.

1995 Celebrating Medical Science 'Error' of Layout gutter strips of 10 (5x2) ACSC #1881ze and zh, matched pair with both being Sheet C with 'HEIDELBERG CPC' in the gutters between stamps 3 & 4, Cat $1500. [The appearance of these items proved that Australia Post was using a special printing of just gutter blocks for its packaged 'product']

COUNTER-PRINTED STAMPS: Comprehensive specialised display with numerous better items commencing with three pages of Christmas Candle Trials including errors, Threatened Species including Imperf Block of 6 (3x2) with Literal (the Post Office or User) & Denomination Omitted and two similar perforated strips of 6 & a single on Adelaide cover, two trial strips with '45c' in Wrong Font, various strips with a Blank Stamp-Space, single with Double Print of '45c NPC', strips with 'AUSTRALIA' in different colours, strip with an Extra Stamp Affixed Resulting in Misplacement of '45c NPC', irregular values below 45c x7 plus 5c x10 given as change! but otherwise unavailable(and that might be classified as unissued stamps), September 1997 to January 1998 PRU Trials with Seriffed Numerals group including '$1.00 GAM15' with 'VOID' Overprint, singles with '55c SA Frama 20yrs' on commercial piece & '55c SA FRAMA 20yrs' Upper Case Error, Western Australia group including rare 'GPO PERTH WA', 'ROCKINGHAM' & 'HILLARYS' Literals plus two apparently normal stamps & a group of Errors all overprinted 'VOID', and error 'GPOPERTH' (no space) x3 (one tied to Last Day Cover by Perth cds of 31OCT2000, also a group of philatelically-contrived covers that passed through the mail with irregular denominations to $20 (Printed Matter sent Economy Air to GB) including airmail rates, Registered & Security Post etc, generally fine to very fine. An outstanding technical study of fascinating material, which is, by far, the best Counter-Printed Stamp collection we have seen. It includes numerous items we have not previously encountered (sorry about the pun), and is all the more remarkable for having been assembled by a collector in England. COUNTER-PRINTED STAMPS: 2002 usage of Pair of Kangaroos with Denomination & Literal Omitted pluis with a Printing Flaw at Lower-Left that probably contributed to the omissions with large central 'VOID' Overprint, tied to an unquestionably commercial cover by 'DANDENONG/LETTERS CENTRE/VIC 3175' machine cancel of 2002/JLY/15 and Dot Matrix cancel 'P C DLC542 15JUL02', curiously not taxed which suggests the sorting equipment could not identify the invalid franking. A modern rarity, and the only such item we have seen. [From a different vendor than the previous lot]
