17868   image1848 Charles Dickens Signed and (reverse) personal? black wax seal depicting outline animal / Lion? Mourning Envelope addressed and posted to his deaf friend Frank Stone, famous Artist. According to Google 'AI', Frank Stone and Charles Dickens met in 1837 when Stone was Secretary of the Shakespeare Club, an organization where Dickens was also a member. The two became lifelong friends, bonded by their shared passion for acting in Dickens' amateur theatrical productions, and by living as neighbours in Tavistock House. Frank Stone (1800–1859) was a talented British artist and engraver who was a friend of Charles Dickens and lived during the same period. Stone, who specialized in portraits and sentimental genre scenes, illustrated some of Dickens's works and was elected an Associate of the Royal Academy in 1851. Detailed research accompanies.
