1882-S MS65 pure white and beautiful. This coin was sold by a company named Asset Services Inc. for $480 in 1989. (Conservatively adjusted for inflation, that would be equivalent to $1,140 today.) The company was one of many (now extinct) that marketed relatively common coins at very high prices during the coin boom of the late 1980s. The only positive thing that can be said of these companies is that though their prices were exorbitant, they did sell nice coins. The present specimen is just as nice as any in PCGS or NGC MS65 holders. We've kept it in the original flip w/ the Asset Services label so the successful bidder will have a nice memento of a (thankfully) bygone era. (Image) (imageb)
